Incredible how London city pedestrian life mimics that of the typical arterial road motorist during rush hour. It’s a small wonder that we don’t have traffic regulations for pedestrians in London (although I did hear of a ‘Fast Lane’ section of the pavement on Oxford Street) for there is clearly a void when it comes to pavement discipline and etiquette. Why take the right or left hand side of the staircase when you can cruise up the middle at your leisure? Another fabulous idea is to stop dead just outside a busy causeway. But my favourite has to be getting to the ticket swiping machine then looking for your credentials.
How bitter London City life makes me….
