Went out in a fabulous Ferrari 355 GTS today. Compared to the Skyline, there is an obvious lack of power, especially torque. You don’t necessarily feel the speed of the car, ever, if it wasn’t for not only the wind in your hair, but that oh so glorious V8. Better sounding by far than the contemporary 360M, the 355 was a joy to be in. Such a sense of occasion about it, the temptation to constantly bury the throttle in the name of acoustic experimentation is great. But whilst in the car, full throttle through a tunnel, a startling thought came to me. The distinction between the reality of that moment and that of a pound coin driven arcade machine, specifically 355 Challenge, was frighteningly undefined. We have parked outside state of the art exotica, yet we prefer to sit inside our homes and make best use of our evolutionary thumb in the interest of memory cards and start buttons. It’s time we got out more.
Edit: James’s wasn’t happy with my comments:

Yes I am sure that most people can also afford a £50k F355 to compliment their PS2 which cost £200 enabling them to claim bankruptcy and live on the streets, which would mean that they are indeed “Out more”
