Fair play to you, I missed the reply completely, so |I forgive you. ;).

I must admit I’m aware that Porsche are not too keen on speculators charging over list (nor am I to be honest) however, I thought that applied to new cars, hence the reason why they make the original person, the person who places their deposit pay for the car.

The car then becomes second hand if they sell it on at an inflated price and I doubt Porsche can do anything about that!

I don’t want to buy at a premium, that is what these people are looking for. I had a very nice long lunch chat with MD of Porsche Marketing yesterday at the Porsche GT3RS preview event at Silverstone. He really wants to know who these speculators and independents are because that is exactly what they’re trying to stop. Now, if I were to be an intelligent man, I’d wager a guess and say that Porsche probably know who these people already are. However, it’s not my business to grass up the independents so I won’t be sharing that info, even though I know of at least 4 companies who will have brand new RS’s to sell.

That was the original idea and I WISH I’d have stuck to it. Two reasons I didn’t go ahead with that.
1) I didn’t want 2 owners on the book from new (although in hindsight, that shouldn’t have really been a worry – owners don’t matter on a car like that)
2) I wanted to build up a dealer relationship when buying a £100k car. You need that relationship.

If order swaps are not allowed and you know the bloke with the RS order just get him to go ahead and then transfer the car to you when it arrives.

Sounds like you need to pay an unannounced visit to the dealership, indicating that you won’t be leaving until either: a) you retain the slot on the RS, or b) you drive away in your ‘old’ car.

I’d be making the visit on the morning of their busiest weekly trading day (Saturday?), and be prepared to speak in non-too-hushed tones ;)

Hmmm, points 4,5 +6 are the wrong way around though mate, in terms of timeline.

Them selling the car without notice is nothing short of disgusting imo, i’d be taking that to the top !!!
