Check out this interview…Jethro Bovingdon asks about the whole VDC and warranty issue to a nissan guy @ the geneva motor show. The guy tries to avoid it, but he insists and gets a concrete answer about nissan’s policy:

Well, I’m hoping Simon is stuck between a hammer and a anvil as I’m also waiting on Nissan’s stance regarding other ‘complicated’ issues that have yet to be responded.
It doesn’t help them that the economic climate has changed so dramatically, forcing many people who would otherwise have bought these cars on easily accessible credit to cancel orders. This is just the excuse they need to retain their deposits.

Well, to be fair, as soon as I saw the 1740kg kerb weight, I knew it wasn’t a “track car”!

But of course with the way it’s been marketed, it should be, and is, a very competent road car that can be used on track.

Nissan have spent millions verifying this and yet now seem to be lacking faith in their product.

I’ve never seen a debacle like it and I’m desperately pleading with Simon Croft (Product Manager for the GT-R in Europe) to make his Japanese bosses see sense before it is too late.

Blowdog Hits the nail on the head.Nissan are trying to compete with the big boys but when it comes to the crunch they have bottled it.£926 for a set of front brake pads,if you change discs to aftermarket warranty is void.Its not a track car its a cash cow for nissan.I think porsche will gain a good few customers after this debacle.
