Santa Pod

2 Minute Read

One thing I look forward to in organised social events such as Santa Pod are the convoys. Ironically, despite popular misgivings on well known bulletin boards, convoys are usually the safest and most fun way to spend early Sunday mornings. At least the convoys which involves a collection of 20 immensely powerful cars 14 junctions up the M1. Cars including about 8 Skylines, 4 Evo 6’s, some Cossies, a bunch of Subarus and a mix of Sunny GTi-R’s for good measure. Add to that some Nissan 200SX’s, RX7’s and Celica’s and you have this most fantastic concoction of sound that you are unlikely ever to replicate. When you mix this bunch of cars with some good old fashioned mature and responsible fun (yes, mature can be fun) and more often than not, you end up with a cruise that becomes more fun than the intended event itself.

The actual event at Santa Pod was, as ever, great fun. Luckily, the weather held out but by the time the cars were into the running schedules, we left for the Watford meet at the Pub. In hindsight, we wished to have stayed there longer throughout.
