Dagenhams Finest

2 Minute Read

By the way, I picked up my new Porsche 911 GT3RS about a month ago. So far, I’ve done Spa and the Nurburgring 24h race.

I’ve really just spent the whole weekend driving it. A very addictive piece of kit. Very fast, very hardcore.
When you get into the ‘zone’, everything just fits together. Gears, steering, throttle – such awesome synergy. It really is a pleasure to drive.

And I can’t stress how good it sounds from inside. And the desire to make that noise between 6-8000rpm is so strong, you’re always in dangerous territory.
It’s also a new experience for me, driving a NA car so powerful for the first time. Slot it into any gear and just use the available low down pickup and torque.

Incredible turn in communication through the wheel too, creates an unimaginable sense of road holding and grip. Going around roundabouts are great fun, even at real low speeds, just making a sudden movement turns the whole car in without a single grumble.

Even though this car is the stripped out, track ready version of the 996, it’s still incredible well built. The doors close shut with a reassuring thud. I guess coming from a Japanese stable we have different thoughts on what’s acceptable and what’s not.

Absolutely sh1te stereo though.

I’ll be going out to drive again soon…

Cem

p.s. did I mention the noise?
