RED FERRARI

2 Minutes Read

Fred’s wonderfully exotic 430 Spider came out with the GT3 to play this afternoon. Mostly a swaped passenger ride in each car, I was left pleasantly suprised, which is quite common when you set yourself out to expect the worst.
My first impression about his Rosso/Creme example was how quick it was. I’ve driven a few 360’s and they are nimble, but far from supercar quick. This car has completely redefined my expectations from a V8 Ferrari. Also with ultra compliant suspension, the car was able to travel along poorly surfaced roads with ease and utter abandon.

From the passenger seat, it looked like the 430 was a much more managable car with none of the frantic tendancies the 360 would expose.

Was also extremely impressed with the cabin calm, considering it’s mid winter, the car did a brilliant job of ensuring no scalps were freeze dried.

My only complaint is the F1 box. I know 99 billion percent of people order the F1 box, but it just appeared to be so detached.

Didn’t feel the interior was befitting of a £120k car, but the cute litte V8 made it all up to me by barking its lungs out on every savage throttle jab. Typically exotic supercar sound, the V8, despite its slightly engineered soundtrack, did a great job of encouraging tunnel blasts at full throttle. Childish comedy but I loved every minute of it.

This car was truly an event – when I asked Fred when he was putting it on the track, he gave me a look akin to someone having just been asked if his daughter was single. I won’t be doing that again.

    Nice car indeed…

So what did he think of your GT3?

    Hmmm… I don’t recall.
Not a lot as far as I remember. I am just an insignificant whelp in the eyes of a 430 owner ;)

The photos on your website are pretty good. Nice car as well, the 997 GT3 and GT3 RS’s are excellent cars, I’ve seen one at our local dealer and at Goodwood. Im in Kent, and we use to have a 996 GT3, but now have a F430 Coupe, if I see your plate I’ll try and make a friendly gesture. =)

Not put the F430 on the track – are you crazy ;) . We have taken ours to Goodwood Race circuit, and would do again, can recommend it!! =)

P.S. You should consider taking the car down to the LeMans 24hour this year, we will be going, and as usual, plenty of other sports and super cars.

    Kind Regards
    Lewis
